" The traditions and history of the School do not lie in the present but in the past and from them the School must draw inspiration. They are not static, but are growing with years, fed by the deeds and successes of the Old Boys.
Their influence can only be maintained if the link between the past and present is maintained. The Old Boys Club provides that link, but it must be continually strengthened."

This is as true today as when it was written in the promotion leaflet in 1947.

History…

The club was originally formed in December 1909.

The objects of the club then were
(i) To promote social intercourse by organising meetings at the school.
(ii) To print and circulate a register of the names and addresses of the members of the club
(iii) To take in hand any matter connected with School Athletics, such as Club Matches and Prizes for School Sports.
(iv) Generally to maintain the connection between the school and its past members.

The first President was the Rev (later Bishop) E.D. Shaw;
Vice-Presidents: Messrs. G.W. Arnison, D. Clarke, L.W. Reynolds and Colonel Gilbey;
Committee: Messrs. W.J. Bartle, A.J. Bliss, B.C. Hooper, W.A. Glenister, F.J. Greenwood and D.J. Watson.
Club Secretary: J.C.S. Nut Cricket and Shooting Secretary: C.R. Watkins Sports Secretary: R.B. Threlfall
